Hmm...some books that i can think of i havent read myself, but friends of mine have.

Try My Rise And Fall by Benito Mussolini edited by Max Ascoli
Another book is Mussolini by Denis MacK-Smith. There are problary several other intresting books about Mussolini if you check out Amazon.Com or one of those online book stores as they have reviews etc from people who've already read them.

Mussolini.

Thanks, but I am not looking for books on Mussolini.
I am looking for books on the Italian military during the fascist era.

Unfortunately there are very few books about the Italian military, there are even fewer that give an objective portrayal of the Italian role in WW2. From what I can tell, there are no books in english that deal objectively with WW2 Italy. There are many extensive works for other countries; Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, and Ambrose's many US books are good examples. I know there is a pretty good quarterly magazine called Corte, but I don't know of any other sources.

Has anyone else heard about Corte?

The best work by Anglo authors for me are Jack Greene's books "Rommel in North Africa" and "Naval war in Mediterrean" and others
