On a sad note. On Sat 12-23-2000. I recieved word that Herr Josef Dick of U-181, had passed away on Dec 3rd.

Also, Heinz Harmel, one of the last Waffen SS Generals, passed away also.

Sorry to hear about those men passing away, how long did you know them? when did you meet them? My sympathies go out to their families.

I met Josef Dick, at the U 181 vet reunion in Bad Camberg, on Sept 17th and 18th-2000. So I only knew him for about 2-1/2 months.

I never had the chance to meet Heinz Harmel.

I thought I would tell you this here. I am planning on going to Germany later this year and I will be metting with so far four of those Knights cross winners that replkied to me. I will keep you notifyied.
