Cool

If this is true I´m truly shocked.....

The Norwegian army was probably mobilized with 50-55 000 men during Operation Weserubung. Early morning 9. April, the government decided mobilization of Norwegian soldiers. However, misunderstanding led to the order that every soldier was to receive this by mail!

Can anyone CONFIRM this???

That's an area of ww2 I haven't given much thought to in years. I seem to recall that there was some bone-headed way in calling for mobilization of Norwegian soldiers--I just don't know what it is. Memory lost due to not thinking about that specific area in a looooooooooooooong time.

I can, they sent the mobilization-draft lists by mail, and said where everyone was to go, so once the German's got their hands on these, they knew who was being mobilized, and where they were to meet, possibly one of the stupidist things in the war.
