No sure way of telling but, I have seen about a dozen or so sites set up by the vets themselves. I know of at least two Knights Cross Recipients that have their own sites. One of them is Heinrich Springer who was in the Waffen SS.

But some details here sound quite weird, e.g.

You can't install a Flakvierling on a battle tank...
