Specifically I'm interested in the Volksgewehr VG1-5. Any sites or reference books folks can point me to?

Question

I'd say probably the #1 reference book covering the Volksgewehr is Peter R Senich's 'The German Assault Rifle 1935-1945' ( Colorado, 1987 ) which has a very good selection of photos and drawings. To a much lesser degree the weapon is also featured in George Markham's 'Guns Of The Reich' ( A&AP 1989 ).

Wonderful! Thank you for the titles Martin. I'll see if I can locate them.

No problem, William.

Try for the Senich book - there have been one or two criticisms of it, but it is full of interesting stuff.

( PS : It is ISBN 0-87364-400-X )
