Wondering if anyone knows the number of German troops/vehicles etc that escaped the Crimea by sea after the Red Army had set them in trap in 1944? Also thanx to Hitler´s brilliant "Not a step back " mentality not letting them escepe in time again losing a whole lot of troops and armor that would have been needed elsewhere.

not sure about how many escaped, but the book in front of me claims only 6,000 were taken prisoner.
