I have a very very old bolt-action rifle. It predates 1940 from what I've been able to find out of it, but there are no markings or brand or anything to discern it's origin. Can anyone give me any information about this rifle?

I can get more detailed pictures if necessary.

Is it a single-load-and-shot rifle, or does it have a magazine ?
To me, it doesn't look sturdy enough to be a Springfield action. The stock is almost certainly a cheap 'sporter' stock. Do you have any idea of the calibre ?

It's a .22 caliber, and yes, it is single-shot.

I don't think that this is a military training piece, Brigadeer.
It's quite likely a 'squirrel gun', produced quite cheaply between the wars and popular with farmers for controlling vermin.

Well, I knew it wasn't a war rifle.
And never even thought of military training piece.
I just was curious of it's maker or brand.
