Cool

"World War II: North Africa
A week before Mussolini orders General Rodolfo Graziani to invade Egypt from Libya, the British RAF raids airfields and Italian military bases."

Anyone know of some real evidence? And why would RAF do that?

Perhaps the RAF was trying to be like the Royal Navy when it sank the French fleet and Italian fleet in pre-emptive strikes ?

Ali Morshead is an unknown quantity at this point

Kai, As Italy declared war on the Allies on June 10, I would suggest that the RAF was slow in attacking Italian bases.

In fact, on the ground British units had raided Italian camps before the Italian Army was aware war had been declared.

Given the speed of Italian Command, It is very possible that it took 2 months to decide to invade Egypt.

(I'll also look up when the RAF first took action, this appears very late)

Indeed Ali,

I somehow remembered it was only the French they had declared war to in June 1940! Thanx for the correction!
