Hi all. I have been working very hard to colorize a WWII photo for my grandfather. I unfortunately have a hard time IDing ribbons. I don't want to ask him to avoid letting him know what I'm working on. I would also like any input on other colors I picked for the scene. I did my best, but if something is off, let me know. Please see the images below.

Thanks to anyone who can help. I'm out of time

John

This site lists official US military ribbons and medals, including most, if not all, WW II period ones. Remember, the order of precedence is important. Bottom right to top left from least important to most important as viewed in the picture.
You will need to find out what ribbons these men won. Some likely ones include the Air Medal, VE medal, Army Achievement Medal, Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and, possibly the Purple Heart.

Pretty good job on the color picture. I wonder what happened to the other two crew members ? B-17 usually carried ten crewmen. I am sure your Grandfather will like it alot.

Thanks for the help all. He absolutly loved the image. I framed a 5x7 print for him and gave him a handful of extra 5x7 prints that he will give to surviving members. He doesn't know the families of the other members so hopefully they find this site one day. I will try to update the photo here so you all can see the final result. I managed to get to bed at 2:30 AM on xmas eve finishing this photo and had to wake up at 6:30 the next day, so it was rough. But all worth it.

John.
