I am wondering if anybody out there had info on the BCATP. Specifically on instructors. My grandfathers name was Cyril Norman Larkin and he was an instructor from the RAF in Canada. I don't have any info on him, other than he served for a bit at No. 15 EFTS Regina, and at No. 38 SFTS in Estevan. He flew Tiger Moths and Probably Anson's in Estevan. If anybody out there knew who he was, or has old photos of either one of those locations, please let me know. The Family resources are not very good (Nobody wants to disscuss the past(think there was a problem of some sort)).

Hi Tiger Fan, Welcome to the forums!

A good way to start would be to acquire his service records. If he was a Canadian, try

If he was British, try:

Hi Tiger Fan,

You might also try contacting the Nanton Lancaster Society Air Museum, they are relatively local to that area, and have this replica artifact from an Estevan Anson. I was researching the original nose art when I found their very informative site a couple weeks ago... At the very least, it is a great site to spend some time browsing around...

Good Luck!

One more Tidbit for you Tiger Fan...

I also found some folks, along the way, that are dedicated SPECIFICALLY to preserving the history of BCATP... They are located in Manitoba, so a bit more distant from Estevan, Saskatchewan - but it will not hurt to try there too!!

Again, Good Luck!
Scott
