Anyone know about the authenticity of this? Personally I`d think it is as good as the Hitler diaries.

A fake. Somewhere in my books there is a discussion of this 'diary' which I believe was faked by a 'Swiss collector' in the 1950s.

There are a few pages written by Braun in the US National Archives which were printed as an appendix to an American authors' Hitler book ; they are just drivel and contain nothing of interest at all.

Thought so, too. It is just a shame that over here a good-named publisher has released this one and the text includes stuff like Hitler and Braun having two kids ( undercover of course ), and that Hitler was told by Morell that Hitler suffered from Syphilis. And more of course....

Yes, they're definitely fake. This is a reprint of the 'Braun diaries' originally published in 1948.

They were published by an obscure film actor named Luis Trenker who forged the diaries from memoirs written decades earlier by Countess Irma Larisch-Wallersee ; this forgery was established by the Munich courts in October 1948.

Tantalisingly, there were some diaries, and a lot of correspondence between Braun and Hitler, believed to have been captured by a US CIC team led by Colonel Robert A Gutierrez in the Summer of 1945. These items then vanished and it is believed that they have been retained by Guttierez privately.
