In Dec 1944 KG51 experienced mysterious symptoms of poisoning. Sr Warrant Officer Kohler died after receiving only minor burns to his hands. After the cause was established as the fuel, the jet pilots were protected with leather clothing including protective gloves...

Was the reason ever found??

thats interesting, i have never heard of jet fuel poisoning

Jet fuel is similar to diesel fuel so I am not too sure about that article you read.

The rocket fuel used in the Komet would disolve a pilot or ground crewman, could they mean that instead ?

The T-Stoff used in the Me163 was awful stuff, but KG51 flew Me262s.

I too have not heard of this incident before....
