Default How to locate downed WW2 aircaft

As i am new to all this can anyone point me to a site that lists downed aircraft such as forced landings, shot down etc etc.

Am especially looking for anything in Sussex, UK

You can try googling with key words such as "Bomber Command losses" , "fighter Command losses" etc... there are also sites and lists available for specific units ( "Jg2 losses" or "Jg+ squadron nummer + losses"). Then try the same with the word "crashed in Sussex" or "Sussex crash" . Also you can find some valuable books with lists and stories etc.. It all depends which nationality you are looking for. you can also try specific site likes www.crashplace.de and type "Sussex" or town names in Sussex . Hope this helps.

This information wil lalmost be certainly held by local 'Aviation Archaeology' groups although they can, of course, be extremely jealous with information.

Andy Saunders, for instance, has authored books about the airwar over Kent and Sussex and will probably know the answers....
