Hey all,
I collect sewing machines, and I'm looking for information on a sewing machine I just acquired. It's a Singer Model 31sv52, made in 1943. It's a special industrial model made to be parachuted to soldiers to repair uniforms, tents, etc.
It's supposed to have come with a stand, table and materials. Mine is mounted to a slatted crate, which may've been a the packing crate made to double as a top. I was wondering if any of you guys have seen these, or have pictures/stories about them. I'm beginning the restoration process, and I don't want to get it wrong.
If you want to see the discussion on the sewing machine forums, (in addition to pictures) the links are

Thanks for your help!
