Skipper, be very cautious using RAL numbers with the system having changed since wartime.
I don't wish to sound too negative but it's also near impossible to transmit accurate colours online without calibrated monitors etc. It's a techno-minefield and I'm not sure you can get accurate enough colour judgements to make a good comparison.

Cheers,
Adam.

part of what a/c ? almost the dirty yellow-green of a late war fighter RLM 76, used on 109G-10's and K-4's besides Fw 190D-9 Doras

curious relic

It belongs to a 109 (probably G-6) . If RLM 76 was used on the G-6 in 1944 it could be the colour I'm trying to identify.

Von Poop, your answer made me think of something. Are these old standards still recognized nowadays ? If they are, one of my friends owes a garage with a paint monitor. Will this machine suffice, or do I need something very specific ?
Erich, I intendly did not mention it was a 109 , but your expert eye came up with this type at once. What about JG27,JG11 or JG3 after D-Day? If you need a larger image sample, I can send you one as a private message.

I'm no experten on camo but from what I have read and talked with experts the greenish tone is a very late war colour autumn of 44 and into 1945.

Skipper if you are thinking of the Normandie fiasco I would say it would be anything like robin egg blue to sky blue or a blue-light grey undertone(s)

JG 3 G-6/AS were overall light blue in I./JG 3 and even JG 11 109G's from II./JG 11 were light colour grey/blue overall with grey spotting

on another hand I wonder just how long this example was sitting in the sun overtime and the greens actually came through the possible blue that faded out completely ?

I have colour samples with that blue and grey indeed. However I am thinking of JG27 because there is some darker green too and this yellowish green is puzzling me. This example has not faded in the sun but in water so it could be altered. I will check profiles from the units you mentionned.

JG 27 had the green on their G-14/AS, G-10's and K-4's in 1945. in fact some of the green faded out to an almost greenish/white.

could we be dealing with a 109G from the Ardenne sphere possibly ?

I forgot to add that it had to be Summer 1944, not later

yes the dark green "could be" the dark green fuselage band for JG 27 Reichsverteidigung.

I like the JG27 idea. Of course there is no evidence at this point just a few hints but I like challenges.
The engine was removed after the war, it does not exist any more, but I am certain it was a Daimler Benz 605A
