Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
According to luftarchiv around 6400 were built in total, I couldn't dig any more detail.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
So far ( from Vajda/Dancey's 'German Aircraft Industry And Production' ) I only have the figure from September 1939 to the end of production in 1944 : 4881.

Nobody is obliged to be in 24/7 attendance to this forum, not even me, so give her a break.

Za, no one expects anyone to be here 24/7, but belle is clearly asking questions, and then updating his website with the information that others have researched, I checked. He's posting the information that he's beed provided with, completely unsourced. To me this indicates that he clearly is benefiting from the knowledge and effort of others but doesn't feel like taking the 3 seconds to post a thank you. Forums are all about give and take, and no one is getting angry at anyone here, but when you check someone's post history and half the posts are requests for info without a thank you, I get the impression there seems to bea little more take than give.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
Yes, very well put. It takes time to dig through all my junk, aka library, and a simple thank you is not too much to ask for, if not for me then for Martin and the others who provide information.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
It's rather odd - I have quite a few 'Stuka' books which give masses of information about the combat record, but they're all curiously coy about production details and the like.....

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
I found two numbers
One is "over 5000"
the other is "said to be 5709"
I guess you'll need take your pick from all provided.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
The only precise figure seems to be the 4881 for the wartime period which was earlier given by Martin.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
thanks dude,
Slipdigit i guess its interesting that there is a significant difference in numbers considering that production of the stuka finished in 1944 wheras the bf 109 fighter was produced in the last weeks of the chaos in 1945 so i can understand the range in figures for the bf 109.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
Like Slipdigit, I had a good trawl through the 'net and found the same two figures ie ''over 5700" and "5709" but - as is so often the case with websites , no sources are quoted . Another one gives the 4881 WWII figure from Vajda/Dancy and reprints the table from that book without, again, acknowledging the source......

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
My sources were from published books, but neither provided a source for the numbers, which is why I didn't provided the book's name. Like I said before, take your pick.

Re: Production figures for Ju 87 Stuka
I've now been through all my 'Stuka' books ( Smith, Griehl, etc ) and I don't think that a 100% accurate figure can be obtained.
The reason being, as stated in Griehl's 'Junkers Ju87 Stuka' ( Airlife, 2001 ) that Junkers' production documents were destroyed/scattered to the four winds at the end of the war. In addition, a number of aircraft were modified to become prototypes of other Ju87 variants and again, much documentation is lost.Griehl searched many archives ( incl. NASM, Deutsche Museum, Bundesarchiv, etc ) and arrived at an approximate figure of 6,500 total production of all types from beginning to end of production, of which the factory at Weser can be proven to have built 5,930.
Rather sad to think that only - is it two ? - complete examples remain intact with a few wrecks being rebuilt/restored.....
