Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to inform everyone of my website update. This time with the help of my friend Mahandis from Indonesia we manage to get pictures of The German War Memorial - Arca Domas in Tjikopo/Cikopo 70km south of Jakarta,Indonesia. Buried there is the Monsun U-Boat, U-195 Cmdr.Friedrich Steinfeldt with several of his crewmen. The German War Memorial - Arca Domas in Tjikopo/Cikopo 70km south of Jakarta,Indonesia
I'll be updating that page with more info & history about it soon.
Upcoming updates to my web will be
1)The Tiger Club in Singapore where officers of the Monsun U-Boats had their R&R
2)The Kriegsmarine typewriter used to draft the proclamation of Indonesia's Independance.
3)OSS maps showing docking bay of Monsun U-Boats In Surabaya,Jakarta, Singapore & Penang.
Cheers,

I checked your site and found it fascinating. I especially liked the pictures of the Gracefield Building that used to be the Monsun U-Boats HQ in Singapore. The renovation is very faithfull , too bad they put a swimming pool just in front of it, it takes the perspective away.

Two years! Wow that's a short time for such a collection, I wonder what it will look like after ten!

Dear Ibrahim: As you know, I am a fan of German U-Boote.
I ask to you for a question: Why the Monsun U-Boats receive this name/denomination?

Sorry for this late reply, didnt receive any prior email notification.
The reason why they were called Monsun U-Boats or "Gruppe Monsun" was to mislead the Allies into thinking that their U-Boats will reach the Indian Ocean during the Monsun season but in actual fact their intended time to reach there would be the opposite. When the Monsun season was over.
Cheers,
Ibrahim,
Singapore.
