Anyone here know how to read service records?
I have my Grandfathers WW2 records. But I can't read it or understand it for a couple of reasons. 1. WW2 lingo (i can get some and most of it..but there are some spots that don't make sense) 2. A lot of it is hand written, and I can't make it out. It seems that the most important parts are hand written.
If anyone could shed some light on this, or point me in the right direction, it would be great.
I would be willing to email/scan, a copy of a page if anyone needed to see it to help me out.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah that's what I"m going to do is post it here. But I'm curious, what other arrangements would there be, other than posting it here?

Re: Anyone here know how to read service records?
When I received my father's records in December 07, National Archives included lists of some abbreviations which might occur in Canadian Army personnel records, also abbreviations which might occur in RCAF personnel records. In many cases they are acronyms more than abbreviations.
If you like, I can scan and post or scan and send to you; or please let me know what terminology is causing problems.
