Question IBM and Overlord and weather forecast

I suppose IBM involved in giving weather forecasts was also deeply involved in the timing when the invasion would begin. Anyone know if there is more info on the way the weather stats were processed etc?

thanx for any extra info!

Lightbulb Re: IBM and Overlord and weather forecast

The senior staff meteorologist who directly advised Eisenhower - and advised him to go for the 6th, not 5th, of June - was Group Captain J M Stagg, who collated information from the RAF, USAAF and Royal Navy.

His memoir, published by Ian Allan in 1971, was called 'Forecast For Overlord' - although details have been disputed by other participants and historians.....
