Default US Army Leggings

Hi, I was wondering does anybody know what the different sizes are for Army leggings? I know that their are Size1r 2r 3r. Was there a size 4? I know that the USMC had a 4. I mean what do the sizes corralate to leg thickness?
Thanks.

Are you talking about puttees?

IIRC, puttees worn by the Army in WWII were "the real thing" , by which I mean a long strip of cloth wrapped up the leg, and not the modern-day version, which looks more a hiking gaitor. Also, IIRC, my father told me that US soldiers (at least, in the ETO) were no longer wearing puttees in battle by D-Day, roughly speaking.

Thanks for the info, Keith -- yeah, the puttees were designed to provide ankle and lower-leg support, which is why they were canned when the new boots came out.
