Early War Tanks
Anyone have a good website on like early war tanks? (Whippet, Those horrible Cruiser tanks and anything those Japs couldn't assemble?)
I'd just like to know besides the TIGER and the Panther, because everyone knows what they are

Re: Early War Tanks
Unfortunately looking at the websites, they are missing some things that don't really help me. If anyone else has any websites please post them.

Re: Early War Tanks
Yes, but some were apparently in service somewhere. And when I meant earlier I was also adding WW1 tanks.
! But yes you are right.

Re: Early War Tanks
What about the Mk II Mediums? They where built in the 1920's, and some where used in Egypt in 1940. French FT 17s also saw service in Operation Torch. And a Mark IV (Male) was used to patrol Portsmouth during the Blitz. Although it later had to be confined to a barracks after damaging a private car! (Heavy tank No.2324)

Re: Early War Tanks
Hawkerace, get yourself over to 'Tanks!':
TANKS!
Bar none the best site for bite-size coverage of the widest variety of pre 1945 armour, and in my opinion almost the best tank site on the web.
The depth can be a little limited but the breadth is enormous and should inspire anyone with an interest to google up some more.
What's particularly refreshing is they haven't even got around to the Germans yet, presumably working to the principle that they're covered ad nauseum by dozens of other sites while hundreds of other equally interesting vehicles are almost completely ignored.
If it were available in book form I'd be willing to pay serious money for it .
This also is a truly fine site regarding British vehicles:
Arcane Fighting Vehicles - AFVs
Well worth a shufti.
Cheers,
Adam.
