I was watching the tale-end of Hart's War today and in it there was a planned breakout from a German PoW camp composed of US prisoners. One of the detainees was a "colored"* US officer who was being encouraged to join an escape attempt, as he was most likely about to be found guilty of murder and executed. One of the comments he made was something to the effect of how long would he last running around Europe a black man.

Anyway, it got me to wondering if there are any verifiable examples of:
1. "Colored" US soldiers attempting to escape in Europe?
2. If so, were any successful?
3. European soldiers successfully escaping while held on the Japanese Islands? (I really doubt this one)
4. Any other race held where there are obvious physical differences present?

a question arises from me, any 15th AF Tuskegee airmen shot down and evaded getting back somehow to their own lines.....this is in addition to Jeffs inquiry

Also highly unlikely that 20AF crews were issued "escape" photos for use with forged IDs in Japan !
