info on operation hardy - 2 SAS
Hello there,
First post so i thought let's jump straight in. This site is great!
I'm looking for some info on 'operation Hardy' by 2 SAS, dropping some 50 men on the plateau de Langres, around Dijon
Also, I was passing through langres and I heard about the battle for the citadel there, so if anyone has any info on that as well it would be much appreciated. I believe the french under Leclerc played a major role in that battle, but i'm more interested in any US/Commonwealth assistance in this battle.
I've looked around on the net but didn't find much, except this:
Operation Hardy - 55 men from 2 SAS (with 12 jeeps) parachuted into eastern France to establish a base on the Plateau de Langres, northwest of Dijon and carry out intelligence and harassment operations. (July - September 1944)
thanks in advance!
