Re: Websites for WWII or Related Research (i.e. Family History)
Michelle yes I started one up on the German side of things back in 01 which may have gone through changes - out the window - do to the server change Otto implemented times back.
lets not forget WASt as well as the Volksbund sites for death and recovery, quite the historical analysis actually with many of those seeking the whereabouts of next of kin. there are others of course such as the comprehensive www.forum.axishistory.com and www.forum.marinearchiv.de
you also have the German site : www.luftarchiv.de for an excellent search possibilities
thanks for posting the lengthy links

Re: Websites for WWII or Related Research (i.e. Family History)
Includes most of my current World War II and related websites. Some of these will be familiar, a few will be links to a couple of Forums pages, a few will be the pages developed by some Forum members, and others will have been provided on other threads by members including myself. I hope they will be helpful or useful for those doing research. They are in alphabetical order, not by category - and while I have tried to ensure they were not already included in this thread some may be duplicates or are updates to previous posts here which I could not edit.

Re: Websites for WWII or Related Research (i.e. Family History)
I found the following which has a 83 slide powerpoint presentation on Canada and World War II. It has the activities in chronological order mixed in with other major events in World War II. Lots of pictures. Not greatly detailed but an introduction.

Re: Websites for WWII or Related Research (i.e. Family History)
for the 1st page lwag web-site/German is going down Richard Eger can no longer maintain
also of note is any private site with aol.com domain is being pulled by Aol
so get your infos while you can. as ot AFHRA at maxwell for US records suggest contacting Lynn Gamma directly as it is much faster and will not have to go through possible sublinks and broken channels for your requests, expect a long wait of 6 weeks or more if you are living in the US. the email should be listed on the web-site
also go to the databases at ArmyAirForces.com
the listing is rather large but obatainable and easy to understand instructions on how to find more info.'s on next of kin. the web-site -forum is very beneficial for that first hand on the spot help for the relative that took part in the Army A/F.

Re: Websites for WWII or Related Research (i.e. Family History)
World War II unit histories & officers
This website aims to give a full spectrum of data on World War II fighting units, including details on organization, commanders, and literature. All units from different countries can be included in due time. When we can find the time, and get enough response from enthusiast people who like to contribute to the site with information, scans etc., this site could grow into a marvelous reference work on World War II military history.
I have another list, but thought this one should stand on its own.
