Smile M1 Helmet with insignia "95"

Hello, all!

First, I'm french, so sorry for my bad english.

I have a helmet with insignia (see photos). Between french collectors, we are unable to determine the origin of this insignia.
Maybe you have an answer to give us!

Thanks in advance.

Is the seam on the rim in the front or the back? It looks like the back in the picture.

I have my suspicions that the 95 is something local and will have not discernable significance, or at least can be discovered.

I frequently see numbers like this hand-painted on American paratroopers' helmets, but not in a stenciled pattern, like this.

Sorry mate, more research is needed on my front.

The seam is in the front!

I was thinking about a helmet for the USN, although it is painted green ... The number 95 is painted in yellow on a blue square (little discernible).

The helmet is a former fixed bails (see pictures) and jugular were changed. The idea of a paratrooper helmet may not be bad. That would mean 95 in this case?

Thanks!
