Default Unidentified building at Abbotsinch

I hope Otto will forgive the link to a rival (since I don't have the original pics), but someone on another of my haunts is trying to find out what this building is-
Unknown,Unrecorded Abbotsinch - SeSco

It looks to be a leftover from the FAA Abbotsinch airfield (Glasgow Airport), and that is a highly unusual baffle wall covering the entrance. Anyone got any ideas?

Lightbulb Re: Unidentified building at Abbotsinch

I'm just guessing out loud here, Gordon - so don't assume for a moment that I know what I'm talking about....

I haven't seen anything exactly like it, but the brick ( not concrete ) construction, with no windows but reasonable ventilation, plus earth-wiring....

Could it be a large pyrotechnic, or ammunition, store of some kind ? This could possibly be an explanation for the 'zig-zag' baffle - to break any blast from inside as well as out ?

I'm also guessing but the amno depot seems the most logical option here, there is some storage, some ventilation and obviously a path for heavier vehicles. I would understand it was logical to keep these storages away from the main airfield.

Cheers chaps, those are sound and logical answers. I've never seen a radar installation with a wall like that, but I know an HAA site with a blast wall running the full length of the magazines.
I'll keep delving....
