I have been looking for info on my Grandfather ,Erich P H Hebold for some years now with no succses . I do know he was on the eastrn front were he had command of a panzer tank. Sturmgeschutzabteilung 912th ,August,27.1943 can someone tell me where this unit was at this time? He was wounded somewere around Stalingrad and moved back to germany with shrapnel wounds. Unfortunitly all info died with him some years ago. I only ever asked him once about the war. For good reasons he didnt want to talk about it. It wasnt untill later when I was exposed to battle that I understand why he chose not to talk about the war. If anyone has resource or time it would be a great help as I would like to Hounor him for his dutie,bravery, and his life.
