does anyone know any more about some big mine wanting to buy some part of the kokoda track to dig up for what ever ore they might be looking for??

Has anyone here hiked the Kokoda Trail or seen the movie?

I wouldn't bother watching it, if it is the same one from here, to me it really sucked.

Krieg. This is just like the Turkish wanting to dig up part of Anzac cove (Gallipoli) to build a Highway or something. I remember that that when construction began there were big responses from Australia, mainly because of the fact that during the initial stages of the digging, they came across Australian military equipment such as guns, uniforms and that sort of things, and the Government got upset claiming it as a burial ground of Australian heritage. The Turkish although sympathic to the Australians replied saying basically that the Turkish economy is more important then an old battle ground. Both have good arguments.
