old tobacco tin
hi all
i know with out a photo i am makeing this very hard but here goes anyway
1.. metal witch looks to be brass coated
2.. about 4 inchers wide .3 inchers deep .1 inch thick
3.. on the frunt ther is a extra bit of metal round like a coin inprinted on
this is a old artillery peice
4.. inprinted on the inside of the lid is witch looks like the big arch ways as your entering france
not fully set up yet for photos sorry no scanner as yet
and behind the cannon on the lid there is a set of crossed flages
with a bit of curley art work around the sides of the lid
i hope i haven't asked the impossable

Re: old tobacco tin
I'm going for a totally off-the-wall guess here : that certainly looks like the Arc de Triomphe on the tin, the detailing looks rather 'Art Nouveau'.....Franco-Prussian War era ?
