Default Silver Certificate

I was at work one day and I found this 1 dollar bill. It’s a silver certificate series 1935. I thought it was cool just finding a sliver certificate. But I looked on the back and saw 9 signed names. What stood out were 2 names signed with Col. and LT. Also it has on it CA Priest 12/23/42. I can only find one name online the rest I can either not read or not find. I have the name underlined (done by computer not on actual dollar). It’s interesting to me and I was wondering if anyone else knows any info on the names or can find any info. Thanks.

Question Re: Silver Certificate

Isn't this what was called a 'short snorter'...?

Yep. Appears to say so right along the top of the bill too. "Short snorter C H Priest 12/23/42" These were a common thing during the war. A group of loose knit drinking buddies would all sign each other's bill. C H Priest would be the originator of this one.

Thumbs up Re: Silver Certificate

That's interesting. 'Short Snorters' are mentioned time and again in just about any 8th Air Force memoir that you care to read, but this is the first image of one I've actually seen.
