Default Pictures of a Recordak Model C Microfilm Reader?

Hi,

Does anybody have any color photos of a 1940's era Recordak Model C Microfilm Reader? It was used by the OSS to read microfilm sent from their overseas bases. Are there any surviving examples today? Many thanks.

Cheers,

GI Gene

Hi there - I actually have a Recordak Model C that is alive and functioning well! By a very interesting sequence of events I came across one up for auction on eBay not far from home. Because I was willing to come pick it up I was able to get it for a song, and I am currently using it for research in newspaper microfilm. The thing is a tank!

Not too long ago Iowa State University had one on its surplus items auction site, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore. I have a photo of that and attached it here. I'm interested to hear more about how they were used during the war.
