Default Company E, 2nd Battalion, First Marianes in Okinawa, May 1945

Good Evening Everyone,
I am doing some research for my mother who is looking for anyone who served in the Marines in 1945 in Okinawa.

Her brother, Donald Sandy ( also known as Stonewall Jackson. nickname) from Des Moines, Iowa. He was in the Marines in Okinawa in May of 1945. He was killed in action on May 7, 1945. He was a foxhole runner.

If you know of Donald please email me with any information, Please. She has lost all of her family and this is important to her to find out any info on him.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Cindy

Hi Cindy. The US Rosters for WWII Dead 1939-1945 shows a Marine PVT Donald Jackson Sandy with service # 988582. If you haven't already, you can utilize the service number and information you already have and request his service record here:

Good luck in your search
