Default Unknown German

Hopefully one of this forum's German experts can tell me about the man pictured here?

It was found in the possessions of an RCAF POW by his family after he passed away about four or five years now. He spent time in the Dulag Luft before being sent to Stalag Luft III and then onto Stalag IIIA in Luckenwalde, Germany.

I am particularly interested in learning this man's rank and what the items on his left breast pocket mean.

Many thanks in advance.

Default Re: Unknown German

The man is a Luftwaffe Sargent. The badge on the lower left breast is a Pilot's Badge. The one above it is harder to make out. It is most likely a wound badge.
