Question Luftwaffe helmet help

I have a Luftwaffe helmet that one of my uncles picked up after a battle with German troops. I never got a chance to ask him exactly where he got it before he passed away. The helmet has a name and what appears to be a serial number of it's owner. Anyone know if it is possible to track the name down or where my uncle may have picked it up?

Name appears to be: Gengenbagh (some letters are hard to read)
Serial number is : L00215 or L00275

Thanks!!

It could be "bach". It doesn't come out in a picture due to the wear in the leather helmet lining and the faded ink. The only way would be to write in the groves in the leather but it would ruin the helmet.

Hey, tunnelrat there is a group that will track down the guys names in the war. They will provide you with records of the guys service and some times give you a photo of the soldier who used the helmet.
(also provide a full name of the man) (not guaranteed they will find the guy)

hope this helps
