Hi Mahross -

I haven't personally, however, I have a friend who lives near me who restores German only World War II vehicles. In fact, I am intending to put a series of threads on the militaria section of the forum on his 1942 Kubelwagen, which is fully restored, and then, put something together on the 1943 Kettenkrad that is in the process of being restored.

Besides owning these two vehicles out right, he has also restored a 1943 Schwimmwagen for another fellow, as well as a Czech made, 1950's version of the German Sdkfz 251 apc.

Colors of paint are all DAK tan, even the 1942 Kubelwagen, which of one looks closely, still has remnants of the original earlier panzer grey.

Hope this might assist your research.

Bill

Sorry, mahross - I'm interested in the restoration of WWII vehicles, but as for owning one....

You need to be at Beltring next weekend ; there are usually hundreds of military vehicles there.

IT is a great weekend, my re-enactment group is going this year but I am afraid I can't make it this year, I am away with the cadets. Actually, last year I went with my work (I was with the Royal Artillery Museum at the time) and they sent me down with a group, a very good time was had by all!
