Tankride in France
again some pics out of my "reenacting" or should i say "collecting" career:
my club got an invitation in Sept. 2004 to take part on the celebs for the liberation in a small city in france ...
the request by the organizers was they need some tankers ...
so i took my tanker-equipment and got to my other pals for a ride on a tank ... - see pics!
all shown vehicles belong to one french family (father and son) - they both deal with all kind of mil-vehicles but are crazy for WW2 US equipment as can be seen by the pics!
they came with 2 shermans, 1 M24, 1 Hellcat, 1 M8 Scoutcar, 1 Halftrack, 1 Dodge WC52 and 1 Jeep ...
people in the city went crazy when we "liberated" them and we had a huge party when we arrived at the main-place ...
enjoy!
some of my pals and me
my "brother" Thierry and me

Re: Tankride in France
Looks good.
Pity about the modern watch, spoils it a bit.
Where was that exactly?

Re: Tankride in France
watch removed ...
off course tanks as well as guys are much too clean - but really i couldn´t force the owner of the tanks (each of them is more than 30.000 US-Dollars) to throw some mud on them ...
period pics of actual WW2 tankers show them mostly covered with grease and dirt - although most of the uniforms items we used to wear are repops noone really wanted to "dirty up" ...
the citizens of the city we "liberated" where happy anyway (got some kisses due to my "heroism") from the same girls which kissed the liebrators 60 years before ...
