Default Charlotte Museum of History WWII Reenactment

June 7th at the Charlotte Museum of History www.charlottemuseum.org

The WWII reenactment event commemorating the D-Day Invasion is open to the public from 11:00 AM until 5:00PM

Jessee Oxendine, who went into Normandy with Company B of the 325th Glider Infantry, 82nd Airborne and his comrades will have a discussion about their experiences during the invasion, the battles they participated in during the war and the liberation of a concentration camp outside of Wobbelin, Germany. The time for this has not been set up yet.

At 4:30 PM there will be a memorial ceremony for the veterans of WWII

DIRECTIONS
Coming from our meeting place at HobbyTown USA;

Start out going WEST on W WT HARRIS BLVD/NC-24 W toward W SUGAR CREEK RD.

(0.2 mi)

2: Make a U-TURN at W SUGAR CREEK RD onto W WT HARRIS BLVD/NC-24 E.(3.6 mi)

3: Turn RIGHT onto US-29 S/N TRYON ST. Continue to follow US-29 S. (3.7 mi)

4: Turn LEFT onto W EASTWAY DR. (1.7 mi)

5: Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto SHAMROCK DR. (0.6 mi) At this point, you should see a Vietnamese restaurant on your left called "LANG VAN", to your right will be a park with a fenced in skateboard park. at this point, start looking on your right, you should see signs for the methodist home, and a steep driveway on your right. there will be cheap looking apartments on your left. RIGHT PAST the Methodist home will be the Museum. It sits back in the woods a bit, so once you get past the Methodist home entrance, be ready to turn. If you go all the way up to the high rise rest home on Shamrock (also on your right), you've gone too far. But there is a sign outside the entrance, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Estimated Time: 16 minutes Estimated Distance: 9.82 miles

Below you will find the address and a google map of where the museum is.
