Default RAF Leuchars Battle of Britain air show. Today.

Hi I went to the airshow at RAF leuchars today. Beautiful warm and sunny weather. (We sometimes get that in Scotland too). Saw the new eurofighter "Typhoon" for the first time and it looked and sounded absolutely awsome.
I managed to get some really good footage of the Battle of Britain commemorative flight and some stills too. Heres a few of the pics on the day.
I couldnt resist a pic of the 1960s Vulcan soaring above the B52 Strato fortress as well as the red arrows flying over the spectator on the roter blades of the helicopter, or the ww2 Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, they were something else. Or the German airforce tornado with Beolcke and the portrait on the side of the ww1 fighter ace.
Hope you like these.

regards to all
John

Thumbs up Re: RAF Leuchars Battle of Britain air show. Today.

Looks like a good show, Mr. S ! Glad the weather was kind. I saw the Typhoon at Duxford last weekend and you're right, its display routine is very impressive this year.....

And I always say that any show without the BBMF is no show at all......

I totally agree, I managed to film some video on my camera of the two fighters and the Lancaster. Its a pity I cant post it, I was right underneath them as they went in to land.
Just inspiring to see these beautiful aircraft again.

Wow, nice pics Mr. S. It's good to see that there are still prop planes flying in the air, even if they are German...

Great pics. This is practically on my doorstep, but I've never made it to one yet.

No probs mate, easy done!
Actually, there was meant to be an ME109 arrive and a mock dogfight ensue, but the 109 had a no show due to a technical problem down at its base in England. Perhaps next year?!

regards John
