I read the other night that when it was instituted in 1914, it was devised for Officers and Warrant Officers only, with NCOs and Enlisted men receiving the Military Medal instead. Does this still apply, or is it open to all ranks now?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think recently they got rid of the MM and made the MC open for all ranks.
