Im now being forced into making a distasteful posting thanke to an inconsiderate few AMERICANS, who have abusd the PRIVILEDGE of contacting these vets.

I was notifyied this morning that an unknown to me, number of AMERICANS, are NOT sending any money to help the veterans with their costs.

It was clearly stated in the addresses area, on what to do and what not to do. I am forced into demanding the webmaster to permanently block all access to this list, and only in the future, will an address be given out on MY approval only.

I now have to limit ONE address per person (on approval) per week, thanks to some VERY inconsiderate people.

There have been 2 Knights Cross Vets makind their concerns known, and it is VERY imbarassing to me and on me, because of this.

There will be NO new KC vets addresses listed and I withdraw any I had planned to enter here. Thank god, I have not had them listed yet.

I have worked VERY long and hard on creating this special thing for people whom are interested in history like I am. I THOUGHT it would be great for some considerate folks, to be able to contact some of these men that they have read about in history books, and or seen in documentary films.

Now all of MY and the webmasters work, is in jeopardy because of this inconsideration. Not only am he and I going to be effected, but everyone will be.

I apoligise to all the poeple who are completely innocent of this, and I know who you are rest assurred. I will continue to allow access to these addresses, but only through contacting me through this sites email, and on approval. Carl@ww2n.com

Gibson is an unknown quantity at this point
Lightbulb

This is too bad. The first batch of letters I sent I only gave $5 to three vets and $10 to another. I plan on now at least giveing them $7. Id like to give more but just dont have the money now

Thanks Gibson. You should not have any trouble as you show responsibility, as those other few, did not.

I too cant afford to give them much as I only make about $800.00 a month now. Im hoping and PRAYING, that I get this other job im looking at, it will at lease double my wages. Im waiting to see what happens........

Hi,
Thanks, it would be nice to know even if I dont contact him imedietly. My re-enatment unit is always interested in contacts so I may consider contacting him to find out if he would be willing to attend one of our 'dinners', we normaly have pleanty of british vetrans but very few Germans, odd considering who we portray. How would you suggest one goes about writing to vets? I find meeting them generaly easy as long as you remain polite and interested in what they have to say (which is never hard) but I wouldent know how to approach onethrough a letter. Anyway, I would be greatful for any help.
Cheers,
Stef

No problem. First write him a letter, or if your lucky enough and live in the same city as he, just call him. If writing, send him at least a 5 poung note, to cover his expenses in writing and sending an autographed photo. The man in England im talking about is a Knights Cross vet.

Like you say, just be polite and listen to what he has to say. You can ask wuestions, but limit them on your first contact to say three or four. I do stress in sending them some payment, as most of these men are not rich or even well-off and live on a small pension--which is a main reason why a person needs to send them something for covering their costs.

Just let me know when you want his name and I will look it up for you, and remind me that it is the KC vet living in England, or I might forget as I get alot of requests.
