Sorry, mp38. There is one actually in my house, but it is my grandfather's and I do not mean that he purchased it. He used it...

I have a mint specimin all matching munbers--serial number is 261-t. It has a 1935 Ansteckmagazin 25 rounds. The magazine is an MG-13 magazine--which is totally correct. The magazine is stamped 1935 the rifle is 1936 S-42.
Drop me an offer, but bid high (I know what these will go for) and BTW--my exact rifle is pictured in Senichs book.

Carl,
thanks Carl, I don't think I can afford that one you have though. I was looking for something in the $1,500-2,000 range. I would like a high turret mount type or a short side rail type, but either a claw mount or long side rail would be fine too.
Friedrich, what type do you have? Would you like to sell it?

My grandfather was a sniper. It is HIS rifle. He doesn't like to sell anything in his collection of hand-gun. Much less his own gun. But it is a beautiful sniper K-98 made in 1936 also, but I have no idea of the serial numbers and all those technicisms... I am ignorant in that field. My Opa permitts me touch and fire nearly all his guns, except for it.

Definately not a problem--but you now know someone who has one who is on these forums. I do have to admit--mine is a beauty. To date--I have never seen any make of Mauser rifle at any show--that can compare with mine. Mine isnt a high turret but a side mount sniper.
Ill have to get a professional pic taken of it and will send it in to Otto to post--Thats how proud of this rifle I am.

Friedrich,
I was just joking about selling it! You should never sell that stuff!
I was just wondering what type your father had? If you could find out, and send pics of it, I would love to see it! Thanks!
Carl,
If you like your gun so much then why do you want to sell it? Just curious. I have a few guns in my collection that are on the "never sell" list. Included are my P38 zero series, nazi proofed browning Hi-power with tangent sight, as well as my 1944 hardshell P38 holster!

Its not that I REALLY want to sell it, but then again--everythings for sale at the right price.
If I ever decided to part with it--I would have it sold by auction at either Butterfields and Butterfields ot Sotheby's. This is where the REAL money is.
I already had an estimate of what mine could sell for based on the older pic I sent in. I was totally flabbergasted at the estimate to say the least--and was also most pleased. Put it this way--I wouldnt have to work for a few years if I sold this at auction.

VERY nice. I hate to rub it in though--mine is in much better condition--not that im downplaying this one. I would give hitlers left nut--to have this rifle.

Carl,
That's funny that you mention giving Hitlers' left nut for this rifle. In fact Hitler didn't have a left nut! He only had one, and it was the right one!
A lot of people don't know this fact. Many people think the Hitler had a lot of balls, but in fact only had one!

Martin,
Thanks for the sight. Nice looking K98 turret mount sniper! I email the guy, and asked a few questions on it. But that looks like what I was looking for. Hopefully I can get it! Thanks!
Matt
PS- Yes I have a Nazi proofed Browning High power. It is S/N-76xxx. Only the first 130,000 have the tangent rear sight. The first 50,000 will be slotted for a stock. It is nazi proofed with WaA103, and I also have the extra rare nazi proofed WaA103 magazine, as well as a nice nazi marked black leather holster for it as well!
The entire rig is just georgeous! , and I've had offers of well over $1,000 for it!

Sorry, I asked my grandfather about the exact specifications of the rifle, but he told me a huge tale about it (with hand language. Remember he cannot speak) with so many details that my Alzheimer has taken care of... Damned, I should have written it down! But he loves to tell me tales and I will ask him again. I just remember that he killed 33 Russians with it... (Is that good or bad?)

Glad to be of help, Matt. I just thought it might be a nice picture for people to look at !
Deeply envious of your Waffen-marked HP35. I have a deact original FN Herstal No 57588A with tangent sight and slotted stock plus original wooden grips. Sadly, it's in 'rough' condition as at some stage it was wrapped in oilcloth and buried 'when the Germans came' ( or so I was told ! ). The finish is very rough but internally the weapon is fine with all parts operable.
But yours - that's the creme-de-la-creme !!

Carl,
Glad you liked that! !
Martin,
Yes, My Browning HP35 is in excellent condition! Since it is an early one, it has a nice high polished finish that is about 93%. Bore is near mint, grips are perfect, and all markings are excellent! If you send me your email address, I can send some pics of it to you.
Best of all, it shoots great! However it is a bit ammo sensative. I have to use Winchester 9mm with it.
