Am interested in Waffen SS signed photos and prints to purchase. Also interested in locating a Heer Manstein or Max Pemsel signed photo to purchase. Thanks for the assistance in advance.

Believe it or not--ebay was a great source for signed photos--wartime and post war signed photos. I dont know if ebay is still a good source for them or not--epier was at one time also but its been quite awhile since I was there.

Ive got about 50 signed photos but--none are for sale. The only signed I do have that I didnt get in person (or while the person was still living are: Oberleutnant zue See und Schnellboot Kapitan, Klaus Feldt. The another is a signed photo of General Adolf Galland, and my piece de resistance--a signed photo of Erich Alfred Hartmann (late war)

Thank you for the information. I also have a signed copy of "The Blonde Knight of Germany" by Toliver signed by Hartmann. Thanks again.

Exclamation

Welcome to the forums, Knightsx!!! I hope you enjoy yourself here and post a lot!

No, I am afraid not. They are my grandfather's and he appreciates them so much that he has not even permitted me to scan them and post them over here... There is actually one (which I love) in which there are some ten officers in North Africa in 1941, some four generals (including GL Erwin Rommel and GL Friedrich Paulus) and a Leutnant (my grandfather). The photo is signed by everybody who appears in it. Even if it was mine, I would scan it but never sell it.

Quite welcome--and you have me drooling at the thought of having Hartmanns signature in a copy of the book. That book is an excellent book--I was never bored nor even found a slow moment in the book. I had to force myself in not reading it all in one sitting.

Friedrich--your making me jealous--hey as a reminder--where are those pics of your Opa? His public is waiting

My hobby is collecting autographed books about WW2. I have over 70 books and WW2 art prints that have been signed at reunions or at written requests in the states and abroad. Several axis signatures are the pride and joy, including Bittrich, Barkmann, Hartmann, Rall, Galland, Fuchida, Otto Baum, Otto Kumm, Admiral Kimmel, Halsey, etc. I'm always looking for more signed photos, books, and prints. Thanks for the replies.

Friedrich--just make a topic and post away--just be sure to tell us what you can about them.

Knightsx, there are tons of these things on the net. Yesterday I was emailed about a site with autographed S&N Lithos by Crandall. There are some Galland, Rall, Hartmann items and others for sale. Plus there is an attached site that sells Bronze Sculptures of The Red BAron, Galland, Hartmann and others. Ill see if I will have the time to post the url here for you later today or tomorrow.

check here for starts on Jerry Crandall's artwork and books.....

also one of different signature pics but very overpirced is Leisure galleries.

www.leisuregalleries.com

I've purchase 1/2 which are in excellent condition but quite the rip off. There are at least 6 sites from the Uk, one of them being BK stamps with a nice selection. As Carl mentioned e-bay.com and e-bay.de are good but of course yuou will be bidding against others ceratinly.
Some of the militaria sites also include some array of material you may be interested. Check your search engines......

Don't be put off by prices, this guys willing to deal.Got some real nice pics off him after a bit of a haggle. His story is,they were collected some years back,as it was easy to write to the people involved, put them away and only got them out again recently, moved on to other things and decided to sell them.Didn't think they were much dearer than other web sites, cheaper than some.He said he put them up for big money because people will haggle you down, you can't haggle them up,try dealing with him ,you might get a better deal than you think.

Got to tell you mate i hope you haggled him right down cos those prices are ridiculous , i have over 800 RKT Photos and have written to most of them myself but i'd never try and sell them at those prices. I don't sell them anyway as most RKT who send them out don't like people making a profit from them however that's the way of the world !!

He has no what i would call rare ones , those are the only ones that can command prices like that or wartime signed originals !!

Plus due to the fact he can't id some of them or some are wrongly named i think he's just bought them in to flog them !!

Get yourself on e bay you'll get them for a quarter of his prices he's taking the P..s !!

Just my opinion

Paul

Never had any luck on e-bay,maybe They're more common to pick up in the US.Cheapest I saw on dealer sites here in UK was £15,and that was for Army guys, which I guess would be more common than Say top fighter pilots,U-Boat commanders, and SS.As to why some are unknown, maybe he's just selling them, bought enougth kit off people who don't seem too up on the stuff they're selling, but feel it's it's up to me to be sure about what I'm buying.Got a friend in Ireland, who's got a big collection, sent him scans of the ones I bought, and he said they were all good,so I was happy.Any sites you can point me to,be most appreciated.

the prices are a total bogus rip-off, in fact as Paul and I both said some of the chaps mentioned are still alive and would roll over backwards and upside down if they knew their signed pics were going for this much.

there are several sites on the net do a google search, once incidently which I do not like to give out much - check Cy Stapelton on the net and go to his militaria site because it is going to blow your sock right off your feet, now that is a chap that has been collecting and offers for sale rightly so not this ridiculous prices posted here on this thread ..........

check him out if you are interested in more signed materials. Better yet do some research on those living and interview these men for their first hand accts. you might be well surprised how much a equivalent $ 20.00 bill can go along with many thank yous and it has been a privelege to ask and receive a response.

E ~ go through some of the archival threads on this forum and you see what has been posted by half a dozen of our members in regards to RK photos and responses

Go onto US Ebay and search for Knights Cross winners if you see any by RFCapt have a go for them , he is a well known collector with 100 % feedback , even i've bought stuff of him, his start price for all is 15 dollars and has some rarer photos.

What you have to remember is that even top Pilots , U boat commanders and SS RK's and high award winners are not that rare in fact some are exactly the opposite so don't justify ridiculous prices, i have loads of photos of Otto Kumm who i was lucky enough to meet who will have signed thousands of photos as will the likes of Erich Topp etc.Because of this £45 for a photo of Otto is greedy you could get one for under half that price.

The rare ones are the ones who have signed very few photos such as SS Panzer RKT Karl Heinz Boska and Army swords winner Waldermar von Gazen who will only sign if you meet him in person.

As long as you are happy with your purchase that's all that matters and i'm not saying they are not good just very expensive !! and can be found cheaper elsewhere.

Anyway happy collecting,

regards

Paul
