I wondered if it was that one, too. If so, the author was Richard M. Watt...

Hi Sommecourt//Martin--thanks 4 replying.
Sommecourt--the book is They Call It Treason--which is a book written about German soldiers near the end of ww2--that after being captured by the Americans--had volunteered to do something for the Americans.
The Americans interviewed the volunteers--picked the ones they trusted the most and moved them to a training facility--and train them in spy and Commando type tactics.
The Germans are given code names like: Tiger and Happy. These volunteers are to do simple things like--go out and locate certain German units--and get the info back to the allies on those units wherabouts.
These men usually worked with an American Intelligence Officer on an actual mission. These Germans would cross back into German lines in full military uniform--and equipped with all-kinds of fake documents to allow them to travel more freely in order to complete theis assignments.
This was a true thing that happened near the end of the war. They arent to be mixed up with the Seydtlitz Troops.
Anyway--this book was made into the fine movie: "Decision Before Dawn."

My apologies Sommecourt, Martin and Crapgame. I could swear that other name was correct. I only have a lame excuse though--its been about two years since I last saw that excellent movie and I never jotted down the books name.
Thanks for the link Crapgame--im ordering that book as soon as I get back to Barnes adn Nobles.
