Bill I had to go far and low to find what I was looking for. My PC is blitzing so thought I would post here for your observance instead of sending a word file. Actually found this through a German site.
This was a short article that Neil Page and I did for our web-site covering in brief form the mission and demise of my cousin Siegfried Baer on 26 November 1944 south of Misburg. As you read the article which is basically correct forget the words covering his shoot down near Peine. Siegfried and his stafflkäpitan were seperated during the battle by P-51's by the 339th fg and the 2nd Scouting force. Siegfreid's Kapitan was shot down and killed quite a bit to the east.
Here is Siegfried's marker for you and all interested in this type of thing.......

and I am hoping you can all access this....

Horrido !

Erich -

Thank you for posting this article here. I have found this to be quite interesting, and have printed it off to hard copy. I appreciate all of your hard work, and effort. It paid off. So young, a mere 21.

"Ich hatte eine kamerade"
"Schlaff im Himmlischer ruhe"

Most respectfully,

Bill

Yes too bloody young Bill ! Like all vets from all countries fighting in this insane war.....I have so little on him but my file on this battle is about 4 inches thick. Looking hard because there is more, and I pay particular tribute to the US service men in the B-24's that flet the crunch of JG 301's assault from the rear on that November 44 date....
