I've been told that the badge 054 belonged to Kazimierz Smolski but I'm not sure if the badge is authentic.

Yes Fortune quite a bit recently. At least Polska1860's post here could be properly classified as an information request, I just though it might fit better in the militaria area. A lot of other posts are all too often posted in the completely wrong place, unfortunately all too many people do not read the user guidelines prior to posting...

I'm certainly not an expert on this, Polska, but I must say that the item looks to be genuine.

The manufacturer, R & HB Kirkwood of Edinburgh, manufactured heraldic jewellery and badges and pre-Arnhem, the Polish Parachute Brigade was based for training at Cupar, Fife in Scotland.

As for the name and number, that would require in-depth research with the relevant authorities.

If it is a fake, someone has gone to a lot of trouble - although I see that the price is already up to £260.....
