We have some good hints here.
-The ruins are of a medieval castle and should be possible to identify, it's just a matter of luck and time. I would believe this castle used to protect the Rhine River, so I may be able to find something.
-The Strassenbahn (tram) is from a western German city (possibly Aachen ? ) I will need to check the Heraldry which is positivily German .. The name Heimmarkt (or Heimat) would be a district of the city.
The streets have the same architecture of the pictures showed earlier of Aachen, but this is just a guess.
The Rogues galery is of the Ninth Army. Among the places and cities they took are: Mönchen- Gladbach, Hürgten forest, Neuss , Rheyt, Erkelenz, Lippstadt (they surrounded 300.000 Germans there), Recklinhausen, Hameln Eisenach, Essen , Magdenburg, Leipzig... They met the Russians at the Elbe at Torgau.
I will focuss on the Heraldry of the tram and the castle first .

I forgot to say, the bridge could part of the Rhine. It is probably in the Ruhr area. The ninth Army got to the Rhine at Neuss.

It certainly does. Aachen could be the city with the tram. Aachen is the German border, near Holland and Belgium , very close to the Ruhr cities mentionned, so it all fits. If they are Aachen are they would be October November 1944 pics.
