Default identification and value of this german helmet?

not sure if its real or fake. i think the helmet itself is real, not sure about everything else. was actually purchased in Germany 5-10 years ago.

left ear area has Q66 stamp and 2358 is stamped in the rear.

all help appreciated.

Hard to say, have seen many orginal ones, the decal is an absolute fake. Also the buckle of the strap isn't right. If you look at the paint on the helmet it only has recent scratches...

I agree with 272VGD, the paint does look to be recent, there seems to be no ageing to it at all.

The decal is almost certainly fake, an original one tends to look like it has sunk in to the paint and become part of it.

The strap is repro, i've seen lots of these for sale at militaria fairs, some unscrupulous dealers even try to pass them off as the genuine article...

However, the shell appears to be a genuine M35 model, the stamps indicate that it is a size 66 and was produced by the Quist factory in Esslingen, being part of batch 2358.

As for value, the shell is probably worth around £50+, the liner £15-20 and the strap £10.
