Re: What is this patch
It looks like a Ruptured Duck, but it is cloth and the head is pointed the wrong way.
I don't think there was a cloth version of the medal.
We'll have to look further unless someone knows it right off.
Carl, any ideas?

I think it is a cloth Navy version of the Ruptured Duck. Though it maybe the OD Green version. Some were kinda dark. They also came in metal and Khaki cloth versions Jeff .

Re: What is this patch
Could I be looking at the wrong side of this patch and since this is old could that effect it's color?

You are probably correct, Robert. I'd had never seen one and could not find an example of a cloth one, but I am far from an expert on them.

Re: What is this patch
Hi guys, it's a standard issue Ruptured Duck. It looks like the backside to the patch. This patch was given to all servicemen who were honorably discharged from service after WWII had ended. You can get a better look at this patch at bill shea's site-which is called: The Ruptured Duck. ;-)) Hope this helps?

With the close up pic it looks like the embroidered on felt version.
