What's your newest Militaria purchases?
I was just wondering what your newest Militaria items were? it would be nice to hear about the varying of what members here collect.
The last few significant purchases (and) trades I made, include:
I obtained a pair of GebJgr RKTs boards, a stone mint 1939 EK2 w/ original ribbon and award packet, four more pairs of Officers boards including one to a unit that was destroyed at Stalingrad, another pair belonging to a unit destroyed at Kursk, and some other good boards.
Purchased items include:
Close Combat Clasp in Silver.
Pair of Generalmajors boards.
A stone mint 1957 EK2.
Currently working on another trade that might net me a nice M-35 single decal helmet.

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
Nice buy, for 10$! according to what you say it seems in excellent condition.
My latest buy: a handwritten poem book of a French Partisan. They were handwritten and dated during the war. They are patriotic songs.

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
Nice diversification of items Gentlemen.
I forgot to mention above, that another pair of items I got in were two autographed photos by RKT and Schnellboots Commander: Oberleutnant zur See Klaus Feldt.
The above man's autographes were obtainable only thanks to the generosity of my good friend Paul. Thank you Paul-I owe you.

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
Ehrm...I did actually buy the Georg Keppler-Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen SS
Willrichcard E8 as well from heroautographs, just could not leave it there as it was available. That is after I checked the bakcground and noticed he was the commander of Waffen-SS Nord for a little while in 1941...
Keppler, Georg

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
A near mint German Luftschutz gas mask and cannister produced by Auer (who are still going strong today) in 1938.
The cannister still has the original sewn on carrying straps and spare mask lenses in the lid compartment.
A great buy at £30...

Mine hasn't arrived yet but, it's already spent-but not on Militaria.
As for my newest purchase, I gotssss me a minty Luftwaffe Staff Officers Vehicle Pennant which also includes the hooks but not the mounting rod. Anyway, I got this for half the price its valued at.
Oh and IF I can persuade a kindly Gentleman on this site to go to Frank and Brians site and take "borrow" Franks photos and post them here for me, i'd greatly appreciate that Erich ;-)) Off-hand, I don't remember where the photos are posted at but, they are in one of the forums near the For Sale, For Trade, etc-sections. ;-D

Hi John, do you have the ability to post a pic of the SS tag? If so, i'd be keenly interested in seeing it.

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
nice pic!
thanks!!
Carl, I got my stimulus check! unfortuantely as there have been so much rain here, that means not much work, so the check will be spent on rent! Crap! I was eyeballin' a M29 on ebay, that would have made a good down payment!

Re: What's your newest Militaria purchases?
I have somewhere in my collection an actual handbook for the Defence of Australia by the Homeguard. It includes tactics to be imployed against infantry and tanks, as well as the proper placement of defences such as antitanks, trenchs, barbed wire, mines and support weapons. As well as telling distances with your hand, stealth and the proper way of escorting a prisoner both with 1 and 2 guards. It is quite interesting.

Hi John, thanks for the picture of your SS ID-nice one. Im glad it's not one of those ground dug items-those I can't stand to see since they almost always taken from the soldiers final resting place.
Take care and best regards--Carl.
PS, I only have two tags in my collection-both are Kriegsmarine. There were pics of them here some time ago and I can't show them again-unless I do it the old fashioned way-by snailnail to someone who can post them. Mine are two sizes one made of Aluminum and the other is Brass. The aluminum one is the larger size-like yours and was to a man who served at some Kriegsmarine facility in Wilhelmshaven and the other actually has the Sailors name on it which is: Hermann Rummelsberger.
