Forum Member "n8458g" PERRY LOCKHART WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU!!!
see what i found in another forum about the guy who is "dumping his g-dads flight gear"
PERRY LOCKHART WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU!!! - U.S. Militaria Forum
So on a different fourm I found a post titled "Dumping my g-dad's original flight gear! Cheap Prices!" Here is the post:
hey everyone, I dont know if im in the right place or not, but my grandfather just passed and I was given all his old flight gear from when he was in service. I have a few jackets, some leather flight pants, some caps, and a cool bag that has been painted, all original! Please contact me if you are interested in buying any of it. Im in college so I need money, just make me an offer. my email is: perryol4@yahoo.com if you are interested ill send you some pics, just drop me a email. thanks
I figured I would shoot him an email you never know. I got back great pictures that are posted below. He told me to make him an offer. So we came to terms of $250 for both coats, bag, flight helmet/goggles, flak helmet, briefcase, and the gloves. I was excited that he would see the stuff for that cheap. After doing a little more looking I began to suspect something. You could tell that the pictures were not taken with the same camera. The closeup of the snap on the gloves was crystal clear yet a not so close up of the B-15 was fuzzy. I checked Ebay to see what the going rate of flak helmets was and I found this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/US-AAF-Army-Air-Forces...1QQcmdZViewItem Compare that picture with the one he sent me. I sent another email and asked what the deal was and he said well he obviously sold it so it was no longer part of our deal. (I emailed him the 20th and this auction ended the 12th). None of the pictures had coralating backgrounds. I found a samurai sword dealer on Ebay who uses the same backgound. BTW-neither the flak helmet seller nor the sword seller's locations were anywhere near Perry. After all this I sent him a nice email letting him know everything. Here are the pictures...you can see why I was excited.

Re: Forum Member "n8458g" PERRY LOCKHART WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU!!!
i saw that post as well and got in touch with him!
he offered me a full set of M36 pistol belt, M6 leather sheat, M3 fighting knife and Colt holster for 45 bucks (equal 30 Euros) shipping inclusive ...
beside this he also offered my 2 B3 sheepskin flight jackets - matching pants and some other stuff for 300 bucks ...
no one on earth running in forums is really that stupid to sell stuff for such low prices ...
i thought is worth a try anyway - i burnt more money with doing more silly things already so i sent over this 45 bucks - really 1 week later i got a pistol belt and off course it was not the one which i have seen on the picture he went over - and off course none of all the other items was sent over ...
here in germany the current price for a pistol belt is around 45 bucks so i got out of this deal with a interesting experience but not really burnt - due to the fact that i expected some hazzle i'm not really surprised about the final result of the "deal" ...
just wanted to prevent anyone else to got hit a bit harder then i was ...

Thanks again oldIron. We usually take away those posts at once , as they are considered as spam ads. However this Perry guy managed to get through with this grandpa stuff. We should have known better. In the future there will be no more exceptions , we'll avoid those scammers that way. I hope noone fell for it on the forum.

Re: Forum Member "n8458g" PERRY LOCKHART WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU!!!
I remember at the time being very sceptical of the 'grandad' schmaltz, and despite some good arguments to the contrary, I rather agreed with the view that if its your grandad's stuff, you should keep it and not try to turn a quick buck. Only MPO.
We will have to be on our guard in future.....

I actually made him an offer on this stuff, told him to send it out "COD" then he disappeared! Good thing I didn't send him any money! It did sound a little off to me!
